Wash your gear after every use
This is the most important rule – never wear your gear without washing it! Brazilian jiu-jitsu as a contact sport, and sweat, dirt, and bacteria buildup during training. Wearing a dirty key can lead to unpleasant smells, and even skin infections like staff or ringworm. Always wash your gear after every training session to keep it fresh and hygienic.
Don't forget to wash your belt
It's a common myth in jiu-jutsu that washing your belt washes away your knowledge, but that's just not true. Your belt comes into contact with the same germs and bacteria as your uniform, so it's important to wash it regularly as well.
